Voice AI technology company ElevenLabs has doubled its market valuation to $22 billion following the close of a $300 million employee share tender offer. This record surge reflects exceptional growth in enterprise demand for automated conversational voice agents globally.

Major funding leap places the company at the forefront of the global landscape

Voice artificial intelligence research and development pioneer ElevenLabs announced on Wednesday that it has completed a $300 million employee share tender offer, bringing the company’s total market valuation to $22 billion. This new valuation fully doubles its previous $11 billion valuation achieved during its Series D funding round this past February.

Investment firms Wellington and T. Rowe Price led the massive financial transaction, cementing ElevenLabs’ position as one of the most valuable artificial intelligence startups in the world outside of the United States and China. Prominent financial institutions joined the shareholder list for the first time, including EQT, Goldman Sachs, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), Sapphire Ventures, and BDT & MSD.

Existing investors also continued their support by participating in the offer, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed, Iconiq, D.E. Shaw, and Alkeon. In such cash tender offers, employees sell existing stakes to outside investors, meaning the company’s treasury does not receive direct new cash, but the transaction establishes an official and specific share price in private financial markets.

Explosion in enterprise demand and expansion of the voice agent platform

Company data revealed that enterprise sector clients now account for 55 percent of total revenue, driven by sweeping adoption from international organizations such as global payments company Stripe, telecommunications group Deutsche Telekom, and the governments of Ukraine and Greece, in applying the generative conversational platform ElevenAgents.

Operational figures indicate that the platform’s agents currently manage more than 15 million voice conversations weekly, equivalent to three times the volume recorded at the start of 2026. This was accompanied by the agent platform’s annualized recurring revenue tripling since the previous funding round. Private market research firm Sacra estimated in September that ElevenLabs’ total annualized recurring revenue reached nearly $600 million by mid-2026.

Mati Staniszewski, co-founder and CEO of the company, commented on this shift by saying: “Artificial intelligence systems must interact with humans in the exact same natural way that humans interact with each other, without pretense or complex technical barriers.”

Intense competition and legal risks on the path to an IPO

Despite this record growth, ElevenLabs faces fierce competition against Silicon Valley giants like OpenAI and Google—which integrate natural voice generation capabilities into their core platforms—as well as specialized providers such as Cartesia and Deepgram.

The company also faces legal headwinds in the United States; seven journalists, voiceover artists, and podcast hosts in Illinois filed a class-action lawsuit against the company earlier this year, accusing it of violating the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act by extracting digital voiceprints from their published recordings without obtaining explicit consent.

ElevenLabs was founded in 2022 by the duo Mati Staniszewski and Piotr Dabkowski, and today employs over 800 staff, with the majority operating out of its headquarters in London, England. Bloomberg reported last preliminary talks for this transaction last July, while Staniszewski hinted at the company’s readiness to launch an initial public offering on global exchanges within two to three years, subject to the stability of global market conditions.
