Enhancing Saudi Arabia’s global ambitions in artificial intelligence

In a significant move to support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s vision of becoming a global technology leader, global firm Qualcomm Technologies and Saudi company Humai—a Public Investment Fund subsidiary specializing in integrated artificial intelligence solutions—announced ambitious plans to deepen their strategic partnership. The announcement, made in Riyadh on November 19, 2025, focuses on opening the “Qualcomm AI Engineering Center” at Humai’s headquarters in Riyadh.

This center is a core part of the collaboration to support Humai in rolling out 200 megawatts of dedicated AI data center capacity, which will rely on Qualcomm’s advanced cloud AI solutions starting in 2026. This massive capacity will provide the necessary foundation for developing advanced artificial intelligence applications across various sectors.

Qualcomm AI Engineering Center: Goals and capabilities

The new center is scheduled to open in December 2025 and will serve as a hub for innovation and technological development. The center will cover advanced engineering capabilities aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of Humai’s fully enhanced services, spanning from the edge (edge devices) to the cloud (central data centers).

The center’s tasks also include integrating artificial intelligence models, developing technologies and the comprehensive ecosystem, and providing world-class AI training programs. The goal is to build local competencies capable of driving this major technological transformation and scaling the AI solutions provided by Humai.

Advanced infrastructure for artificial intelligence services

The two companies previously announced a transformative collaboration to deploy advanced AI infrastructure in the Kingdom. The goal of this infrastructure is to deliver high-performance AI inference services (running trained models) while achieving market-leading total cost of ownership. This means providing robust AI capabilities at a competitive cost, encouraging widespread adoption of these technologies.

This infrastructure will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest cloud AI hardware and software, including innovative solutions such as Qualcomm Cloud AI 100 and Qualcomm Cloud AI 200. These technologies are engineered to deliver superior AI data processing performance with high energy efficiency.

Leadership and close integration

The center will be co-located with Humai in Riyadh, a strategic decision to ensure close integration between the two companies’ working teams and enable rapid time-to-market. This direct collaboration will facilitate the exchange of expertise and accelerate the pace of development.

Cristiano Amon, president and CEO of Qualcomm Technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for this step, stating: “We are pleased to announce the next phase of our successful collaboration with Humai, as we bring our leading AI expertise to Riyadh through our new AI engineering center.” He added that the center is “designed to simplify and accelerate the deployment of the latest data center AI-based services from Qualcomm.”

Accelerating innovation and delivering added value

For his part, Tarek Amin, CEO of Humai, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in delivering world-class AI infrastructure solutions. He stated: “With the new Qualcomm AI Engineering Center co-located with Humai, we will combine our competencies and expertise to accelerate the launch of our cutting-edge data center capabilities and solutions.”

Amin added: “Our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies grows stronger by the day as we strive together to deliver added value across various sectors to drive a new era of AI innovation.” This partnership directly contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in diversifying the economy and building a future based on knowledge and innovation.
