Launch of Air UX 3.0 and Over-the-Air Rollout Schedule

Nasdaq-listed Lucid Group has announced the official launch of “Air UX 3.0,” a comprehensive major software update designed to upgrade the digital experience for owners of luxury Lucid Air vehicles. The company drew interface designs and modern usability concepts from its Lucid Gravity SUV to enhance navigation, multimedia display, and quick vehicle control systems.

The new software update is available under public release version 2.11.0, with customers receiving it automatically upon installation. The system began rolling out over-the-air to all eligible Lucid Air vehicles from the 2025 model year and later starting September 29, 2026. Conversely, 2022 and 2023 models, as well as certain 2024 variants, require a $950 infotainment processor hardware upgrade in the U.S. market including installation, with international pricing announcements forthcoming.

Redesigned Driving Interface and Quick Controls

The new system introduces a completely redesigned home screen on the left instrument panel, featuring scrollable dynamic display modules that place the most frequently used features directly within the driver’s reach. This enables seamless control of media files, phone calls, navigation routes to favorite home or work locations, and the discovery of nearby charging stations.

The update also adds quick drop-down menu capabilities via the lower glass display screen, the “Pilot Panel,” allowing drivers to drag applications downward for instant access to central settings. Marc Solsona Palomar, Vice President of Software at Lucid, emphasized that this update reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to enriching digital driving experiences and continuously integrating the latest interactive technologies.

Profile Management and Guest Protection Features

Technical enhancements include doubling the switching speed between driver profiles while expanding primary profile control capabilities via digital keys linked to the vehicle to ensure precise preservation of seat, mirror, and climate preferences.

Lucid also introduced a simplified security mechanism to reset and cancel the “Guest Driver” profile by providing a secure six-digit personal identification number (PIN), ensuring personal data security and privacy protection when handing the car over to valet services or temporary drivers with a completely secure logout.

Smart Charging Route Planner and Automatic Night Mode

The “Air UX 3.0” system delivers a dual-screen smart navigation experience combining the instrument cluster and central display, incorporating vital features such as a favorites list and an automatic night mode toggle designed to be easy on the eyes.

The updated software enables drivers to customize and plan electric vehicle travel routes based on their exact preferences for approved charging networks, available charging adapter compatibility, and control over setting the minimum required battery range upon reaching the final destination, eliminating range anxiety during long trips.

Expanded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Display

The new software update enhances the speed and stability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto operations, expanding the digital display area to encompass the entire right side of the wide lower cockpit glass screen. This provides an expanded interactive interface for viewing maps and receiving alerts.

This extension grants a comfortable visual space enabling drivers to efficiently manage messages and play favorite music platforms without obstructing essential driving controls, alongside support for instant wireless connection or direct wired linking via fast-charging cables to ensure phone charging and navigation continuity.
